"...because he was of the same trade, he stayed with them, and they worked together — by trade they were tentmakers." Acts 18:3. Tentmaker is a title taken by bi-vocational pastors. As such, I am both a pastor and a project manager. I am a pastor of a local congregation of moderate, accepting and affirming people who worship in the Baptist tradition. We call our church "Hope Memorial Baptist" and we are about 40 in number. I am also a project manager of major construction projects for the State of Georgia. My home and church is in rural Coweta County, between Peachtree City and Newnan, with a mailing address of Sharpsburg, Georgia.

New Program

For the seven and a half years that I have been pastor of Hope Memorial Baptist Church, we have had only one service on Sunday. We tried a Wednesday night service several years ago which started off with good attendance and ended after a couple of years with no one showing up but me. So, beginning this Sunday, I will be holding services twice on Sunday and once on Wednesday evening. I'm going to do this for several months to see if any interest is generated.

Your prayers are welcomed.

Good for you, Tentman!

I personally LOVE the Wednesday night services as much, if not more, than I love the Sunday morning ones. Our Wednesday evening services are smaller and, thus, more personal in their feel. We often times pray together standing arm in arm for special occasions. We always have communion - which gets me in the door EVERY TIME - and we sing more and worship more than we do on Sundays.

But the reason I really go...is because its one more way to show God I love him. I hope you find those people in your congregation too. I'll keep you in my prayers.
