Location: Sharpsburg, Georgia, United States

"...because he was of the same trade, he stayed with them, and they worked together — by trade they were tentmakers." Acts 18:3. Tentmaker is a title taken by bi-vocational pastors. As such, I am both a pastor and a project manager. I am a pastor of a local congregation of moderate, accepting and affirming people who worship in the Baptist tradition. We call our church "Hope Memorial Baptist" and we are about 40 in number. I am also a project manager of major construction projects for the State of Georgia. My home and church is in rural Coweta County, between Peachtree City and Newnan, with a mailing address of Sharpsburg, Georgia.

Year B - Proper 9

Liturgy of the Word:
2 Samuel 5:1-5, 9-10
Psalm 48
2 Corinthians 12:2-10
Mark 6:1-13
It is when we are weak
that we are strong in the Lord.
May the strength of God's grace
be always with you.
Deliver us Lord, from every evil
and grant us peace in our day.
In your mercy accept us in our weakness
and fill us with the strength of Christ.
Keep alive in us the hope
that goodness and right will prevail
and that lasting happiness will be ours
at the coming in glory
of our Savior Jesus Christ.
For the Kingdom and the power
and the glory are yours
now and forevermore.
Amen.

The Ark of the Covenant

I have known for years that the Ethiopian Church believed that it possessed the original Ark. It has never been shown to the general public, however, so many are skeptical of this claim. See this Article. Perhaps we will soon be able to see what their claim looks like.
